Note: If you haven't watched the Advanced Menu Training video yet, please watch that first here before diving into the details of the tool.
Creating New Nodes:
Name: The name of the node you want to create. Please use the title case.
Description: The description of the item (optional). This is visible on the app.
Node Type: One of these numbers is required in the Type box to signify what kind of menu item it is.
- Category Level
- Item Level
- Group Modifier Level
- Modifier Level
Nodes do not need to be created in order (from Category to modifiers; from numbers 1 to 4). What's important is that you assign the right type of node to the name (i.e don't make "Size" an Item or Category, rather a Group).
Editing Nodes:
You can access the "Edit Node" window by double-clicking the desired node you want to edit, or by right-clicking the node.
The “Edit Node Details” allows you to change the details of nodes, except the node type. This is useful for correcting typographical errors, updating descriptions of items, active/ inactive, etc.:
- Name on App: The name that the user sees on the menu.
- Name on Receipt: What the merchant sees printed on the receipt.
- Description: Descriptions for Categories, Items Groups and Modifiers shows up in the app.
- Tax: Tax can be added to Items and Modifiers. The only way to edit if they will be taxed is here, by choosing either "Always" in order to add the tax to an Item, or "Never", which removes the tax from the Item. If an Item is only taxed when eating at the venue, choose "Only For Here". "Regular" is the default setting and needs to be updated to one of the other options.
- Nutrition Keys: You can choose up to 4 nutrition keys to put on a menu item. There is a dropdown list to choose from, i.e. Dairy, Gluten, Vegan, Nuts, etc if an item contains any of these.
- Status: Change state between Active/ Inactive/ Out of Stock. Out of stock automatically resets to Active the next day (at midnight/ opening time the next day).
- Out of Stock Until: Use this to set a calendar date for a long Out of Stock duration. The item returns to Active on the date selected.
Modifier Pricing:
Add pricing to the Modifiers if they come at an additional cost to the menu item (Extras). If there are size modifiers, pricing only needs to be added to the sizes that are an additional cost from the smallest item size.

Tip: Selecting Multiple Nodes on Nodes Panel: Shift-click to select and highlight multiple nodes for extra functionality. By doing so, you can change the states of multiple nodes, locate nodes on the Structure Panel, or open the individual "Edit Nodes" window of the selected nodes all at the same time.
- Note: Never delete a Node from the Nodes Panel.
